The Domestic Violence Prevention Centre Gold Coast Inc. (DVPCGC Inc.) is a specialist domestic violence service, providing support to women and their children affected by domestic violence.  DVPCGC Inc. provides a range of services and supports including crisis intervention, counselling and groups for women and children, court assistance, men’s programs, community education and training and community awareness activities.

Probation and Parole Service

Probation and Parole Service supervises offenders subject to community-based orders and enforces the orders of the courts to break the cycle of re-offending and increase community safety. Offenders who have committed acts of domestic violence are referred to programs and counselling in the community to address their offending behaviour.

Centacare Helping Out Families (HOF)


HOF works with men who are using violent and abusive behaviours in their family relationships. The Changing Gears program is a 16 week men’s behaviour change group. Participants are invited in for an initial assessment and then offered a place in the program. Topics covered include What is Domestic Violence, The Impact of Violence on Women and Children, Time Out strategy, Healthy Relationships and more.  Men are challenged and support to make lasting changes in their behaviours in order to be safe people for their families to be around.
