Service description:

DARE provides victims and survivors with a support buddy/DV Chaplain to support them and refer them to professional services or other NFP in the area that are able to help them leave, or so they do not go back to their perpetrator. Our DV Chaplain is a mobile service. Our Drop-In Centres (yet to come) are more for victims (and survivors) to receive support and information in a safe and secure premise.

PCYC Crestmead

PCYC Crestmead was established in 2009 to service the Crestmead and surrounding areas in response to community need and high demand for our services and programs in the community, to make a difference to the lives of local residents.

PCYC Crestmead have launched a new program called RUBY (Rise Up Be Yourself).

RUBY (Rise Up, Be Yourself) is a free physical fitness program for women who are, have been, or likely to be experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). The program is designed to empower women by building physical strength and contributing to general well-being, emotional resilience, self-esteem and confidence through physical exercise in a violence free and safe environment.

RUBY is not just a fitness class, and it’s a unique program allowing women in a group environment a different outlet and tools to combat the domestic violence cycle. The weekly sessions cover a variety of activities (circuit, boxing, bootcamp etc), with sessions running at the same day and time each week.

The program is suitable for women aged 18+ (with ages 16+ to be considered upon referral / intake and assessment).

HOF works with men who are using violent and abusive behaviours in their family relationships. The Changing Gears program is a 16 week men’s behaviour change group. Participants are invited in for an initial assessment and then offered a place in the program. A Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner may issue a Section 60I Certificate to one or both parties, if joint family dispute resolution is unsuccessful or assessed as inappropriate and they wish to make an application for a family court order.
