The Working Against Violence Support Service (WAVSS) is the Regional Domestic Violence Service in Logan providing free support to women and children experiencing violence in their intimate relationships.  We provide crisis support; information, advocacy and advice; counselling for women and children; groupwork; court support; referral; community education; and leadership for the Logan Integrated Community Response (ICR) and Beaudesert Coordinated Community Response (CCR) networks.

A state-wide telephone service staffed by male counsellors and offering confidential counselling and information, and acts as a strategic point of referral for Queensland men around issues of domestic and family violence, relationship problems and other significant issues for men.  Dvconnect mensline is able to direct callers to services in their local areas for ongoing support and also provides a Men’s Court Support Service for men who need to attend court as the Aggrieved or Respondent for a Domestic Violence Protection Order.

The Domestic Violence Assistance Program (DVAP)

The Domestic Violence Assistance Program (DVAP) is a Centacare based service which provides support to those women experiencing domestic violence who wish to access the legal system to obtain Domestic Violence Protection Orders or variations to Orders. This includes assistance with writing applications for Protection Orders, navigation of the court system, support before and during the court process, information, advocacy and referral and development of a safety plan.  Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 8.15 am to 4.30 pm

Family Relationship Centre

The Family Relationship Centre (FRC) provides FREE confidential mediation to assist separated parents agree on workable care arrangements for their children. The Centre also provides information and referrals for both intact and separated families. The FRC also has a qualified Child Inclusive Practitioner who can bring the child’s voice to mediated agreements by working with the children prior to the mediation session.
